Spirituality as a Catalyst for Change Ashish's weight loss journey began when he connected with spirituality through the Art of Living. He shares, “Spirituality made a major embark in my weight loss journey.” On 21st June 2010, he took a significant step by leaving alcohol, marking another turning point in his transformation.

However, the path was not always smooth. At his lowest point, despite relentless effort, Ashish only managed to lose 1 kg in 10 months. Yet, with perseverance and a positive mindset, his hard work eventually paid off.


Lifestyle Changes for a Healthier Tomorrow: Ashish highlighted two main lifestyle changes:

  1. Early to bed, early to rise

  2. No to junk food & sugar

Dietary Habits:

  • Breakfast: 4 egg whites + 2 whole eggs & choice of oats/poha/green dal cheela

  • Lunch: A combination of salad, fruits, seasonal veggies, and a bowl of curd

  • Dinner: 4 egg whites, 2 whole eggs, 2 multigrain rotis, veggies/dal, and salads by 7:00 pm

  • Pre-workout: Rice cake with peanut butter

  • Post-workout: Protein shake complemented with nuts

  • Cheat days: Anything but sugar!

Some low-calorie dishes Ashish recommends include air-fried kofta, oats idli with coconut chutney, vegetable khichdi, vegetable porridge, Indian pancakes with vegetable stuffing, and oats roti with vegetable raita.


Workout Mantra:

Ashish's workout routine consists of 3-4 days of strength training, 1-2 days of cardiovascular workouts, and a day dedicated to stretching or yoga. He also highlights the importance of rest, recovery, and sleep, advocating for active recovery as a tool to maintain consistent movement.


Staying Motivated and Focused:

Ashish draws his motivation from his strong spiritual connection. A positive attitude, strong determination, and learning from others help him maintain this motivation. To ensure he never loses focus, Ashish relies on a firm belief in himself and sets SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Bound) goals.
